When I was in Kindergarten the school nurse came into my class one day and gave all of us eye exams. After my exam a note was pinned to my shirt and I was sent home. Mom took me to the doctor and I was diagnosed with a congenital cataract in my right eye.
The doctor didn’t think surgery was necessary and I was given a prescription for glasses. The logic behind glasses was always a bit lost on me since I had perfect vision in my left eye. The doctor said glasses would help prevent the cataract from growing .That’s how I ended up wearing glasses for most of my childhood.
It seems to me since I only needed a prescription lens for one eye I could have gotten a monocle. How cool would it have been to be in Kindergarten and wear a monocle?

But you probably already knew that.
I’d never be able to live with myself.
