Is just a reminder that when it comes to ear and nose hair, genetics is going to work against me.

I went to visit my Grandparents today. This is Granddad talking to my Uncle about coming over to mow his lawn. Granddad accidentally hit the speaker phone button so everyone in the room could hear the conversation. My Uncle, who has an unfair reputation for being uncouth and a bit of a rouge was very sweet and patient with him on the phone.
Also Granddad enlightended me on the ins and out of the dog food industry:
“Dog food is just sawdust and grease”
It was a good visit.
Things I learned from my visit with my Granddad this afternoon: Allergy Season Edition
- The shot he was given for his seasonal allergies isn’t worth “Fifteen cents”.
- There is such a thing as ‘Pigweed’ and he is allergic to the stuff.
- Wearing a ball cap helps keep the pollen off of his head and therefore helps with his allergy symptoms.
- Mae West wore long underwear to help with her allergies.
Yesterday was decent, very little political conversation, nobody expressing unnecessary concern about my unemployment. But the highlight of the day was visiting with my Granddad, pictured above with his little dog Duke.
Here are few things I learned from him during my visit:
- A Hot Toddy can cure pneumonia
- Dolly Parton is very talented and looks great for her age.
- Dogs can sense that he is sympathetic to them and are drawn to him.
- Home Alone is a timeless movie.
I went to visit my Grandparents this morning. My Granddad who will turn 88 next month, is rebuilding the engine of an old Nissan Sentra. He has been a mechanic his entire adult life and still rebuilds cars, doing all the mechanical and body work himself.
Today he needed a particular screw and when I arrived he was out getting it. The one he came home with wasn’t quite what he needed so he ground it down until he got it just right.
